John Rossi, VMD, M. Bioethics

Dr. John Rossi is a veterinarian and bioethicist currently working in the animal health industry. He has previously held full-time positions in academia, government, and companion-animal clinical practice, and he still enjoys practicing medicine in a relief capacity. Dr. Rossi is passionate about animal welfare and ethics, and in addition to his work with HSVMA, he enjoys teaching and writing about various topics in the field, particularly topics relating to the moral status of animals and the ethics of animal use. He currently resides in the greater Philadelphia area.

 

 

 

Nikhil Joshi, VMD

Dr. Nicholas H. Dodman

Dr. Nikhil Joshi is a small animal emergency veterinarian and lifelong advocate for animal welfare.  Dr. Joshi earned both a VMD and a certificate in veterinary public health from the University of Pennsylvania in 2015.  During his time at Penn Vet, he volunteered with animal shelters and welfare groups in the city of Philadelphia, and spent time in underserved southwestern tribal communities providing free surgical and primary care services. He also helped found a company dedicated to pharmaceutical research protocols without the use of laboratory animals.

After veterinary school Dr. Joshi completed a yearlong internship in small animal medicine and hospital management at the Red Bank Veterinary Hospital in New Jersey.  While there, he also spent several weeks working with the Monmouth County SPCA and humane law enforcement. 

Prior to veterinary school, Dr. Joshi was a consultant with a global professional services firm, working with clients in the federal government, non-profit sector, and healthcare industry.
