The HSVMA was proud to partner with Spay Day this year to highlight the importance of veterinary professionals in promoting spay/ neuter and recognize their unique contributions to Spay Day by offering this prize getaway among other tokens of appreciation.

Gonzalez is the owner and medical director of the Rascal Unit, a pair of mobile veterinary hospitals based in Dublin, Ohio that travels throughout the state with the help of local humane organizations and shelters to bring affordable pet sterilization and routine veterinary care to individuals in need.

The Rascal Unit held a Spay Day event on Feb. 23, 2010 which was focused on pediatric sterilization and provided low cost spay neuter for 49 puppies. This was the Rascal Unit's second Spay Day event. They first participated in 2009 with an event focused on bully breeds.

The prize includes a trip for two to Animal Care Expo. Animal Care Expo, the world's largest international education and tradeshow in the fields of animal care and control, rescue and emergency services, brings together leaders from across the country and around the globe.
