HSVMA ANIMAL WELFARE SYMPOSIUM FOR VETERINARY STUDENTS

Saturday, October 5, 2019

Michigan State University, College of Veterinary Medicine, East Lansing, MI

Sponsored by Kislak Family Foundation and Total Planning Veterinary Services

Animal welfare has become a hot topic in veterinary medicine, and many veterinarians and students are expressing interest in learning more about this emerging field.

The fifth annual HSVMA Animal Welfare Symposium will bring together future veterinary professionals for a shared goal: to improve the lives of all animals. Not only will participants gain a better understanding of the many issues that animals face in our society and how the profession can help, the symposium will also serve as a place to share ideas, knowledge, and practical skills.

This year’s conference will feature important and timely animal welfare issues including animal cruelty reporting and forensics, equine welfare, shelter medicine, caring for pets of the indigent, and exotic companion mammals.

The HSVMA Animal Welfare Symposium is co-presented by the Humane Society Veterinary Medical Association and the Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine.
