Dr. Ahne Simonsen

Dr. Simonsen graduated from the Atlantic Veterinary College at the University of Prince Edward Island in 2007. Prior to receiving her veterinary degree, received her BA from Tufts University in Medford/Sommerville, Mass. and spent three years working in the documentary film and television industries. While attending veterinary school, Dr. Simonsen served as a student volunteer for HSVMA-RAVS. After receiving her DVM, she continued to volunteer with the organization on a regular basis on both small animal and equine trips.

For the past five years, Dr. Simonsen has worked in low cost, high quality, high volume spay/neuter clinics and animal shelters near her home in Boulder, Colo. and volunteered her time with local non-profits focused on animal wellness and client education programs. She joined the RAVS staff in 2012 to continue her career helping animals and communities in need of veterinary services and animal welfare education.

In her free time, Dr. Simonsen enjoys being outdoors doing anything, traveling the world, exercising, learning Spanish, reading classic novels, watching indie films and documentaries, and spending time with her family, friends, and posse of pets.
